Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) and Osita Iheme (Paw-Paw) make superstar entrance into Swaziland
The Matsapha International Airport was abuzz with excitement yesterday during the arrival of Nigerian actors, Aki and Paw-Paw.
A crowd of people crammed the VIP lounge exit point to get a glimpse of their favourite Nigerian actors as they left for the hotel they are booked in. Even police officers and the airport staff could not contain their excitement as they fished out their cellphones to take pictures of them and took turns posing with the stars.
Their first stop, after checking in, was the Times of Swaziland, where they were welcomed with much excitement. “Our fans must come watch us tonight and tomorrow. We promise great performances on both days,” said the stars. “They will get a chance to interact with us and have lots of fun,” the two comedians concurred. YOUTH CORPS MEMBER ARRAIGNED OVER INTERNET FRAUD
Why are youth corpers that are going to finish their service soon get themselves in this kind of mess?
Justice Adebisi Akinlade of the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, Tuesday, sentenced Ibok Benneth Preston, a national youth corps member to eight months imprisonment for attempting to commit internet fraud. The convict was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a ten count charge bordering on forgery and possession of fraudulent proposal document to the tune of $4,500 (Four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars). The offence is contrary to Sections 363 of the criminal law of LagosState, vol. 44 No 11 of 2011.
He was arraigned on November 1, 2012, on allegation that he fraudulently issued forged Union Bank of Nigeria Plc receipts, letters and several other documents purportedly obtained from the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), using the false identity of a Rev. Christopher Wallace, with intent to defraud unsuspecting individuals over a contrived European Winning Lottery programme.
When arraigned, he pleaded not guilty and he was detained in Kirikiri prison while the case was adjourned till November 27, 2012, for hearing of the bail application.
But on the adjourned date, Preston changed his plea from ‘not guilty’ to “guilty", having entered into a plea bargain agreement with the prosecution. Counsel to the accused person, J. Njoku, urged the court to tamper justice with mercy as the accused had shown remorse for his action, more so as he is a first offender.
The prosecution counsel, I.O. Daramola urged the court to convict the accused person in line with his plea.
Justice Akinlade consequently sentenced to eight months imprisonment effective from August 28, 2012, when he was arrested.
Preston’s road to jail followed a petition by a prominent industrialist who alleged that some unknown person hacked into his email account while his access to the account was blocked. The unknown person started sending mails to his contacts asking that money be sent to a certain bank account. After thorough investigation, Preston was arrested and he confessed to the crime.

Taylor Swift covers yet another glossy magazine. Her Cosmopolitan December 2012 cover shows her wearing a fuchsia-red purple ensemble with her hair tousled looking glam as usual. Singer also appears in Marie Claire and Glamour November 2012 issues.
The singer talked about her relationships, how they work and things she cannot tolerate in them:
I can’t deal with someone wanting to take a relationship backward or needing space or cheating on you. It’s a conscious thing: it’s a common-sense thing…I just don’t ever want to end up in a relationship that isn’t fair ever again.
On what she would do besides music: “Being a mom full time, doing everything for my kids, having a bunch of them. One day, I’m sure. But that’s the only other thing that could be as thrilling for me as doing this.”
Lyrics from new album that stand out for her: “I have a chalkboard in my house in L.A., and every week, I’ve been writing a new lyric on it from the record just to figure out which ones pop out to me, which seem most important. There’s a song that’s the first track on the record, and it says, “Love is a ruthless game unless you play it good and right.” That’s been my whole philosophy on love this whole time anyway.”

“It isn’t easy. My weight fluctuates, like any normal girl, and I have times when I feel insecure. So if I come under scrutiny at one of those times, then I might get really down on myself. But the next day, I might be like, “Oh, f**k off, I’m so much better than that. I have moments of weakness, but mostly I brush the criticism off… Who cares if I’m not a size zero? I don’t want to be. I love my body; I’m healthy, I work out. But I also enjoy life… the more scrutiny I am under, the more confident I become. I am who I am. I can’t do anything about it, and I love who I am.”

wife forced to remarry husband who threw acid on her face
A WOMAN whose unfaithful husband
threw acid in her face after she divorced him has now been coerced into
remarrying her violent former partner.
Nurbanu divorced her husband of 18 years eight days before he returned and threw acid in her face in Shatkhira in south west Bangladesh. She had originally ended the marriage after she found him with another woman.
"My husband went into hiding. After 10 months he was caught and jailed for a year," she told The Huffington Post.
Nurbanu's husband spent 12 months in jail for disfiguring her. He had been on the run for ten months before authorities caught up with him, but after his release his family coerced her into re-marrying him.
"His mother paid for his release on bail," she said. "She made me
sign an affidavit to have him released. She used my sons to convince me
to marry him again."
The acid attack has left the 36-year-old mother with horrific facial injuries. She is now blind and unable to even prepare a meal for herself.
"People would think a husband would take care of a blind wife.
But this doesn't happen," she said adding that her husband still
regularly beats her. "This is how my days go by," she said.
Nurbanu is one of thousands of women in Bangladesh who have had acid flung at them by a relative or partner due to domestic arguments, financial woes or even rejected marriage proposals.
Violence against women remains an issue, according to Monira Rahman, the CEO of the acid survivors association in Bangladesh.
rked with survivors of acid and petrol attacks in
Bangladesh for the past 14 years, I know that violence is a major
obstacle for women's ability to access their rights," Ms Rahman said.
"Until women have real equality, they will continue to not only suffer the most from poverty but also be subjected to violence."
While government efforts have seen a decline in the number of acid attacks which has fallen from 500 in 2002 to 111 in 2011, there is still more work to be done Ms Rahman said.

how much damage before this stops?
I want your opinion on this issue
i watched a facebook video and saw where an housemaid was maltreating a boy that is not up to a year old while someone in the background, maybe the sister was watching and it got me thinking-
For how long will we leave our kids or siblings in the hands of housemaids or nanny?
i am not saying that it is a bad idea especially mothers that are resuming to work after childbirth but to what extent will we put our young ones in harm way and what are the measure that are available to stop this?
please leave your comment.

shoes Say Volumes About Your Personality
People say clothes count for first impressions. They really do, because each person has his own style which reflects his or her personality. But can shoes say volumes about their
owner? According to psychologists they can. Shoes show your fashion
sense, status, neatness, attention you pay to details, etc.
Stilettos as weapon
If you love stilettos you are most likely a vivid and extraordinary person who longs for attention. You can be capricious and a bit spoilt but you always get what you want. You are confident about your powers and sex appeal. However, some people take you as a silly and shallow girl.
Flats for comfort
Flats-lover is usually sweet, friendly and a little boring. Deep in your soul you are still a child. You try to look open and prepossessing but strangers can hardly get too close to you. Women who like flats are usually great fashionistas who are fond of wearing new clothes. You are kind and considerate. And men see you as a very fragile person who they want to care for.
Biker-style queen
You are reserved and a bit egocentric. You don’t trust people and prefer doing everything yourself. But at the same time you are smart and sensitive and often worry about your relations with other people. You get sincerely surprised with rudeness and inadequate behavior.
Dandy-girl
If you like loafers and oxford shoes you belong to a group of women who are undemonstrative and prefer hiding their feelings even if their souls are in flames. You know what you want and achieve your goals no matter what happens and people around you think. You can be too punctilious which bothers you to make friends easily.
Tomboy
Girl who has a weak point about sporty footwear is normally creative and sociable. They love traveling and feel extremely bored when routine makes them stay at the same place for long. You need to always be among people who love and respect you.
Comfortable sexiness
Women who wear wedge shoes are usually straightforward, confident and love power. However, when it comes to decision making they tend to hesitate. In relationships they seek for reliability and trust.
And while we generally prefer the same style of footwear to wear on the daily basis we still love experiments and this explains how in one wardrobe one can keep all existing shoe styles. Don’t take this article very seriously but isn’t it generally true about you?
