The federal government will today arraign the former chairman of the House of Representative Ad-hoc Committee on Fuel Subsidy, Hon. Farouk Lawan, and the secretary of the committee, Mr. Boniface Emenalo, before an Abuja High Court for allegedly receiving $620, 000 bribe from a businessman, Mr. Femi Otedola, to remove his two oil firms, Zenon Petroleum and Forte Gas Ltd, from the list of companies indicted in the fuel subsidy scam.

The recent ban on motorcyclists popularly known as Okada by the Lagos State Government on 475 roads in the metropolis indicated another infamous creation of armed robbers in the state. The enforcement of its new traffic law restricting the operations of commercial motorcycles a.k.a Okada on the some of the restricted routes could add another round of congested traffic hold ups in state. Over 3000 motorcyclists have been seized by the law enforcement officials, yet Okada riders still ply some of the restricted routes in the state.

AfDB to invest $150m in Nigeria's rice production
Nigeria's quest for self-sufficient status in rice production by the year 2015 has received a boost, as African Development Bank (AfDB) unfolded plans to invest $150 million (N23.7 billion) in the country's rice value chain under the Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA).
According to the Chief Operations Officer, AfDB, Dr. Patrick Agboma who disclosed this yesterday at the opening of a two-day stakeholders workshop of the Bank Pre-Appraisal Mission on Rice Value Chain Development Programme (RVCP) in Abuja, the support is also part of the scheme.

SAN FRANCISCO, February 01, – An Abuja High Court Friday afternoon remanded the former chairman of the House of Representative Ad-hoc Committee on fuel subsidy regime, Hon.
